Superdrug "Mud Therapy" Deep Cleansing Mud Mask

After having a bit of an adverse reaction to the Superdrug White Chocolate face mask, I was avoiding the Superdrug own brand face masks. However, I kept hearing really good things about the Mud Therapy ones by Superdrug, and kept telling myself I probably wouldn't react badly to another mask, so I bit the bullet and purchased this one day last week.

"The Superdrug Deep Cleansing mud mask, with natural mineral benefits of dead sea mud naturally detoxifies and remineralises. This clay based mask will help promote a clearer complexion, leaving skin softer and rejuvenated".

I personally prefer clay masks to any other, although I know some people can find them a bit drying. As is typical with clay masks, this dries fairly quickly on your skin, leaving it difficult to move your face and speak! The mask itself is a really nice consistency - it's thick without being difficult to work with. It's a typical 'mud mask' colour, it doesn't look attractive on the face but it certainly does what it says!

The tube recommends you leave this on for 10/15 minutes so that's how long I left it for. In this time, it had completely dried and gone hard on my face. After rinsing it off (with some difficulty!) my skin immediately felt smoother, and in the next few days I noticed my skin looked a lot more even, as I sometimes suffer with red patches on my cheeks. This mask seemed to have calmed them down a lot! I hadn't changed anything else in my routine, simply used this mask, so I can make a good assumption it was the mask calming down the redness.

I would definitely recommend this. It's quite cheap and it has worked really well for me. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the Superdrug packet masks, and I know there's quite a few people who aren't keen, but don't let that put you off these ones as they are literally worlds apart!

This is £2.59 and available from Superdrug.

Nivea Milk & Honey Lip Balm

I am a big fan of lipbalms, and I love it when I find one I really like. I love Nivea lip balms anyway, but when I saw this Milk and Honey one in Boots the other week it immediately caught my eye.

This is made from 100% natural ingredients, which I love. It smells absolutely amazing - there's a slight scent of honey but it's not too overpowering which is nice.

This leaves my lips feeling so soft, without being greasy. It really feels like it sinks into the lips rather than just sitting on top of them which some lipbalms do. I carry this around with me all the time and I would say this is one of the best lipbalms I have ever used - it's great for healing chapped lips and keeping them in good condition.

I would 100% recommend this - it's really good quality and plus it's cheap too!

This is available for £1.99 from Boots and Superdrug.

Beauty and Blogging Resolutions

Hello everyone! Happy New Year!
I didn't actually mean to take a break from my blog between Christmas and New Year - I was planning on writing a few posts, but I just found I didn't have time, and I thought, Christmas is a time for family, I'm going to spend as much time as possible with them! So that's what I did.

I have seen lots of people do posts on beauty/blogging resolutions and I've been really enjoying reading them, so I thought for my very first post of 2013 I would jump on the bandwagon and write my own. They probably won't be very unique ones, but things that I feel are important or that I would like to achieve!

#1. Wash Make Up Brushes More Often

This is something I am absolutely terrible at. I know how important it is to prevent the spread of germs and breakouts etc, yet I still never seem to do it! Lately I've been getting quite a few breakouts and I'm hoping that by washing my brushes thoroughly and more often, this will improve.

#2. Experiment With Brighter Colours

I absolutely love bright eyes and lips on other people, but never have the confidence to wear them myself. I really want to start experimenting, especially with brighter lip colours.

#3. Find the Perfect Skincare Routine

I like to think I have a pretty good skincare routine at the minute, but I always feel like theres something missing. I can't quite put my finger on what it is yet, but I plan to experiment to see what works for me.

#4. Redesign my Blog

As much as I do like the design of my blog how it is, it has been pretty much the same ever since I started blogging back in April. I would really like to redesign it myself, as I think I would be really impressed if I managed to master html etc!

#5. Be Happy!

As much as this is so, so cheesy, it's so unbelievably true. It's not exactly related to beauty or blogging, but it's definitely my main goal this year. "Do what makes you happy".

Weekly Wishlist #17

Can you believe it's Christmas Eve?! I don't honestly know where this year has gone, it seems to have absolutely flown by. This will probably be the last weekly wishlist of the year, as next Monday will be New Year's Eve and I will be working (only until 4pm though, so I guess it's not too bad!).

I have been lusting after a MAC lipstick for I don't know how long and I am thinking of treating myself to one to wear on New Years Eve, and this colour has caught my eye.

I need a dress for the New Years Eve party I'm going to and this is perfect. I am a big fan of lace, especially navy lace, and I really like the style of this one.

I absolutely love pugs. I mean seriously, I really, really want a pug, but I just don't have the time to look after one properly at the minute. I guess I'll settle for these amazing pug socks until I can finally get a real one!

I have wanted this for so long now, I hear amazing things about it on an almost daily basis, so I think I may have to cave and buy this at the same time as the lipstick!
