MUA Pro Brow Kit

MUA have recently brought out some amazing products, and obviously, being MUA, they are at amazing prices too! I have been wanting to try a lot of their new stuff for a while, mainly the nail constellations and this, the eyebrow kit!

I've been looking for an affordable brow kit for a while, and as soon as I heard MUA were bringing out one, I knew I had to try it. I am a big fan of most of the MUA products, they are such good quality for the prices.

The kit contains three coloured powders - two for the brows, and one highlighter for underneath the brow bones, and a gel for setting the brows, tweezers and a bush to apply the powders and gel. I use the darkest colour for my brows as they are naturally very dark brown, and it's quite a good match.

The packaging is actually really sturdy. It's quite small so it's easy to take around with you, yet the mirror inside it is the perfect size.

The powders are really pigmented, and I find them to wear for around 7/8 hours without fading - which is good considering the price!

The only negatives I can find about this product are that there is quite a lot of fall-out from the powders, so I anticipate that this little kit could get quite grubby over time! The other thing is that if you have super super dark eyebrows or very fair eyebrows, this probably won't be a good match for you, and currently this is the only shade range MUA offer.

Despite the two negatives, I do love this kit and it's amazing to think that everything you need to do your eyebrows is contained in this little kit which only costs £3.50! Compared to other brow kits out there, this is a complete bargain, and it's really good quality too!

This is £3.50 and available from selected Superdrug stores (although I believe it's quite hard to find at the minute!) and online at the MUA Store.

MUA Lipstick Shade 11

Helloo everyone!
Firstly I want to thank the lovely Louisa Mary for nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award. As you know, I haven't been blogging long and for someone to actually be interested in the stuff I waffle on about is amazing, haha. I will definately do the 7 facts about myself and other blog nominations soon :).

On to today's post. I have only just really discovered MUA, which is a brand exclusively available in Superdrug. I rarely wear lipstick or lipgloss and have been wanting to experiment more with them, and so figured MUA would be a good place to start seeing as it's only £1.00 per lipstick! The shade I really wanted was a kind of "my lips but better" shade which sadly was out of stock (I can't remember the shade number sorry), and so I decided finally on Shade 11, which is actually quite a difficult shade to describe haha! It's got a red hint to it, but it's not in your face red.

The packaging is simple, which I would expect from a lipstick costing £1.00, but it's not horrible or anything like that. The reason I have only swatched it on my hand and not on my lips is actually because this shade does not suit me at all! I'm quite pale and I found this colour almost washed me out and looked really silly on my lips :\. Besides this, it was actually really nice to apply, and glided over my lips with no problems. It's fairly pigmented which is good, but I would definately choose a lighter more neutral shade next time. I might grow to like this but because I am not used to having colour on my lips I couldn't stop staring at it and didn't like it much haha.

Overall for £1.00 I would buy this brand again just in a different shade. I may pop back to Superdrug later in the week to see if they have the shade I wanted in the first place. Obviously I cannot comment on the staying power of this because I did not keep it on my lips long enough, but it was quite easy to rub off my hand with some tissue, which could mean that it isn't very long lasting?

On a completely different note, I bought some new shoes! :)

I have been looking for some shoes like this for ages because I like the style and think they go with pretty much everything. The peacocks website is down at the minute, so I can't post a link, but these were £12.00 and off the top of my head they had them in a coral colour and maybe blue as well. I chose black because they go with more, but I may have to pick up a coral pair because they were really pretty and summery :)

FOTD #1

I've been debating whether or not to do this for a few days now. Even though I love make-up and beauty, I am not the most confident person in the world, and I certainly don't photograph well! However, you'll just have to excuse the poor picture and my poor skin cause I'm having a slight 'mare at the min with my skin, I'm just at the end of a bad breakout (eek!).
This is pretty much my everyday look, nothing too special or interesting. I don't wear anything on my lips as I hate lipstick (shock horror!) and don't particularly like lip gloss. Occassionally I will have to resort to lip balm but that is rare.

(By the way, my pictures aren't very good because I'm having to rely on my iPhone, my camera broke!)

Base:
17 Photo Flawless Skin Primer
Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in 100 Ivory
MUA Pressed Powder in Shade 1
17 Instant Glow Shimmer Pearls

Eyes:
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Zero
Bourjois Volume Clubbing Mascara in Absolute Black

I've just realised how boring my make-up is haha! I tend not to bother with eye shadow or lipstick/lipgloss so it doesn't actually take me that long to do this. Maybe I should start being more creative! Anyone know where would be a good place to start?

All of my make-up is high street brands tbh, though I am saving up for some more high-end brands at the min, might take me a while though as I keep getting distracted by the 3 for 2 in Boots!

MUA Pressed Power in Shade 1

This is the first MUA product I've bought, and since almost everything in the range is only £1.00 I decided to give it a whirl. I purchased the pressed powder in shade 1, and I have to say, I'm quite pleased.

Shade 1 was the most appropriate for my skin tone so I went with that one. I think they come in shades 1,2,3 and 4.

I don't know what's going on with my skin tone in these, ha, I'm not that red, promise! It's quite suble on me, but I find it works best over your foundation, as it mattifies the look :) You could use it on it's own for a more dressed-down, natural look.
Overall, for £1.00, it's actually really good. I would definately buy it again.

In other news, while I was in Superdrug, I spied some new Barry M nail polishes! Barry M is one of my favourite nail polish brands as there's such a wide range of colours and they're cheap at £2.99 for 10ml, and also they're widely available where I live (unlike Model's Own, which I have to order from the website, boo!). Naturally, I got extremely excited over this but stopped myself from buying any as I ordered 3 polishes from Model's Own this morning (oops). I'll probably end up going back as they had this black polish with like holographic glitter in that I NEED, ha. There was also Barry M Magnetic Polish which I don't know if I'll get as I was disappointed with 17's version. Off the top of my head, I think there was a shimmery blue colour and maybe a greeny one? I don't know, I'll do some research :)
