Garnier Ultimate Blends Conditioner: The Sleek Restorer

I admit I probably use conditioner slightly too much - I just hate the feeling of my hair when I haven't used it. I have used a Herbal Essences conditioner for years; honestly only because it's usually on offer in Boots or Tesco, not because it works wonders for my hair. Because of this I decided to try something different recently and picked this up in Boots as it was on an introductory offer. I believe this is somewhat of a new release, and I think there is a whole range, targeting different hair types and problems - but the one i tried, the Sleek Restorer, is targeted at 'dry, frizzy hair'.

Garnier claim that this will leave hair with 'touchable smoothness'. I have to say, I wasn't all that impressed with this. It smells lovely but for me this is where the positives end.

I simply felt that this didn't leave my hair feeling soft and smooth; in fact I often struggled to get a brush through my hair after using this. I found it left my hair feeling quite dry, despite being aimed at people with dry hair, which to me, should mean that it is hydrating.

My hair also did not look as shiny as it does when I used the Herbal Essences conditioner. I found my hair looked quite dull and lacklustre as opposed to being beautifully nourished and silky to the touch as Garnier claim.

Overall I'm quite disappointed in this - I hadn't read much into it before I purchased it so didn't know what to expect but I did expect my hair to be left shiny and soft at least. Of course this may work for some people as it's extremely subjective depending on hair type etc, but sadly it didn't work for me.

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment

My hair has been the same length for about as long as I can remember. I would absolutely love to have long hair, but unfortunately for me my hair never seems to grow past a 'certain length'. Enter this product which claims to be specifically targeted at hair 'that never grows past a certain length'. Sounds perfect no? (apologies for the state this product is in, I've had it for ages and completely forgot to photograph it before I used it - oops!)

 

 

 

 

First of all, I really love the packaging of this! Mainly because I am a complete sucker for anything bright pink. but it's just such a lovely colour and looks really nice on display in your bathroom! Anyway, I digress..

 

"Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment with Pro-Growth complex, contains a protein-based complex to fertilise your follicles to help hair grow faster and reach its maximum potential length."

 

It is recommended that you use this every time you wash your hair until you see an improvement, and then to reduce the use to once a week. It also recommends that you use an "egg sized" amount but I found this was way too much for my hair, I used a lot less than that (obviously this depends on the length and thickness of your hair - mine is medium length and quite fine so I didn't need a huge amount). I used this every time I washed my hair for about 4 weeks, and in all honesty I didn't notice any difference in the length of my hair at all. I now tend to use it just once a week like the packaging suggests.

 

Although I didn't notice any difference in the length of my hair, I did love how this made my hair feel after use. It made my hair extremely soft and shiny, and did make it appear fuller.

 

I do like this product, just not for its main use. I didn't feel it made any difference to the length of my hair, but I do think it makes a really good hair treatment in terms of making the hair feel super clean and silky. I probably wouldn't repurchase as I am basically using this as a deep conditioner and I know there are other, cheaper ones on the market, so I would probably try a different brand. I was slightly gutted this didn't work for me, as I know a lot of people rave about this!

Andrew Barton SOS Help Me! Twice a Week Conditioner

My hair is in such bad condition lately. I know I've only got myself to blame, as I dye my hair way too often, and use way too much heat on it, but split ends and dry hair still annoy me. I have been using this for a few weeks now, and I have really noticed a difference in my hair, so I thought I'd share it with you all.

 

 

 

 

"The Superstar of hair treatments for when hair needs SOS care". This is a deep conditioning treatment which is supposed to be used twice weekly to "gently mend all the cracks, sooth the hair cuticles and add supercharged shine".

 

First things, this smells AMAZING. I can't put my finger on exactly what it smells like though - it's sweet and almost vanillary, but it literally smells good enough to eat. It also leaves your hair smelling like this all day too, which I love.

 

This has quite a thick consistency, and it's not the easiest thing to work into your hair, but aside from that I have nothing bad to say about this. It genuinely leaves your hair feeling super soft, and I have noticed that my hair looks less damaged and flyaway.

 

I apply this twice a week as suggested, and leave it on for around 5 minutes before rinsing. Like I said, I have been using this for a few weeks now and I absolutely love it.

 

I would really recommend this to anyone with damaged hair, and even better, it's super cheap too!

Andrew Barton Hair Products

Firstly, apologies for the lack of posts over the weekend, I've been super busy but I think now I am back into the swing of things :)

Today I have for you 3 hair products that I actually recieved for Christmas but I completely forgot about until about 2 weeks ago. They are Andrew Barton Gloss Boss Shampoo, Gloss Boss Conditioner and The Straight Answer Protection Spray.

The products are from Andrew Barton's "Shiny Happy Hair" collection, and the claims

 they make are "a collection of no fuss, no nonsense hair products that work" and "leaves your hair feeling magical and gorgeous". The products in this range don't have a very strong smell, just a light, pleasant, kind of floral-y one, which is nice.

I have been using these 3 for about 2 weeks now, and I have noticed a difference in my hair. After washing, my hair feels soft and looks shiny, which is the claim the products make. I tried using the shampoo without the conditioner afterwards to see what effect the shampoo had on its own, and while my hair still felt soft, I think you would need to use the conditioner from the range as well to see the full benefits. The heat protection spray is the product I like the most out of these. I straighten my hair almost every day and it's fair to say it's not in the best condition. Since using the spray, I have noticed that while my hair has not got any better, it certainly has not got worse, which I am positive it would have done if I wasn't using the spray. I'm actually getting my hair cut at the weekend so I will see if the spray still works wonders once my split ends have been chopped off :).

There are quite a few Andrew Barton collections, and I also have tried the "SOS Help Me" one, which I thought was really good too.
